| VFW Post 2502 proudly carries the name of Lucian R. Lovewell, a courageous army private from South Lyon, Michigan who was mortally wounded during the first world war. He was laid to rest in France, as his death came before the time when the United States government began transferring the bodies of fallen soldiers back from the places in which they died. Although he is long since gone, his legacy lives on in the South Lyon VFW post. |

| Today, post 2502 is stronger than ever and even more involved in our community than in years past. We have a growing VFW membership and we are also home to the Women's Auxillery and the American Legion, who host many regular events here at the post. |

| Membership Dues and Requirements: |
| To apply for a VFW membership, you must have your DD214 form and you must be present at the post of your choice to apply. Life membership fees are listed below. All fees listed are one-time only payments. The cost of a single year membership is $35.00. |
| New life membership fees are in effect as of January 1st, 2007. Payments may be made over a period of 2 years with enrollment in the in the Payment Program. For additional information about the program, contact us by email or telephone at (248) 437-2236. |
